To develop their friendship-building skills and self-esteem, students in the Career and Technical Education Honor Society at North High School participated in the Hance Family Foundation’s Beautiful Me program throughout May.
Beautiful Me is a three-session self-esteem program designed to educate females by promoting appreciation of their genuine qualities, accurate self-awareness and the satisfaction of helping others. During the sessions, staff members from the Hance Family Foundation engaged students in discussions on a variety of topics to build their self-esteem. Students were also encouraged to maintain a positive mindset and focus on their strengths and talents.
As part of their community service project, members of the honor society will teach eighth-grade female students what they learned as a way to empower them and embolden their confidence and individuality.
