Central High School senior Archer Casimir has been named a finalist in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program.
The program began in 1964 to recognize outstanding, academically promising black American students throughout the nation.
Archer was recognized as one of 1,600 semifinalists in the program in the fall. Approximately 80 percent of semifinalists progressed to the finalist stage and the program will select 800 Achievement Scholarship winners from that group.
The district congratulates Archer on this achievement.
