The Daily Beast has ranked Central High School 436th in the nation on its list of Top High Schools for 2014.
More than 700 high schools throughout the nation were selected based on six different indicators from surveys submitted to the publication, with a specific focus on graduation and college acceptance rates. According to The Daily Beast, Central High School is listed as having a graduation rate of 94 percent and a college-bound rate of 95 percent.
In past years, the Daily Beast has teamed up with Newsweek to compile the national rankings; however, this is the first year that The Daily Beast has provided its own list. The rankings break down its numbers on the strength of six criteria:
• Graduation rate• College acceptance rate• AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student• Average SAT/ACT test scores• Average AP/IB/AICE test scores• Percentage of students enrolled in at least ONE AP/IB/AICE course
The district congratulates Central High School administrators, faculty and staff on this prestigious recognition.
