District touts 290 AP Scholars

A record-high number of 290 students in the district have earned AP Scholar Awards for their outstanding achievement on Advanced Placement exams. Students took AP exams in May 2014 after completing rigorous college-level courses at their respective schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on a student’s performance on AP exams. The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school. Students can earn college credit, advanced placement or both based on successful performance on the AP exams.
