Memorial Junior High School recently hosted its annual College Day.
At the event, guidance counselors from both the junior high school and Central High School spoke with ninth-grade students during their English classes about a number of college-related subjects. Groups of Central High School seniors were also on hand to speak with underclassmen about their experiences preparing for college.
Topics ranged from the college application process to the importance of maintaining a strong GPA and working hard to earn quality SAT scores. Students were also encouraged to remain active in their community, join clubs and volunteer to have strong resumes when it comes time to apply to colleges.
