The district will host its Early College Information Night on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Central High School’s Keller Auditorium. Freshmen, sophomores and their parents are invited to attend to hear from college admissions counselors about what constitutes a successful candidate for admission to college.
Topics to be discussed include: high school courses, AP courses, college admissions testing, extracurricular activities, the importance of campus visits, costs, academic scholarships, living at home versus going away, letters of recommendation, essays, special talent admissions and volunteerism. Participants will also learn about the admissions information and costs of the represented colleges.
