Several students from South High School were named top winners in Nassau County’s Second Annual High School Drug Awareness Public Service Announcement Contest.
Congratulations to the following South High School students on their winning video entries:
Second place — “End the Stigma – Seek Help”: Priscilla Nash
Second place — “End the Stigma – It Always Gets Better”: Sophie Renois
Third place — “End the Stigma – Call 227TALK”: Stessy Louis
These students were honored at a special ceremony at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola.
As part of Red Ribbon Week in October, the contest asked students in grades nine through 12 to create a 30-second PSA. To raise awareness about the dangers of illegal and prescription drugs, 125 students from nine different high schools as well as Nassau BOCES Westbury Center participated in the contest.
Congratulations to these South High School students for earning top honors in the contest!
