The Washington Post has announced its ranking of the most challenging high schools nationwide, placing South High School No. 44, North High School No. 53 and Central High School No. 57 among more than 120 ranked schools in New York State.
In addition, South High School ranked No. 570, North High School ranked No. 595 and Central High School ranked No. 651 out of more than 1,900 high schools nationwide.
South High School, North High School and Central High School received index scores of 2.831, 2.777 and 2.644, respectively. The index score represents the number of college-level tests, including Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certification of Education, given at a school in the previous calendar year divided by the number of graduates for that specific year.
