A team of Central High School business students, under the guidance of Katharine Plett, placed fourth out of 27 schools in the second annual Nassau County Comptroller's Entrepreneurial Challenge, hosted by Comptroller George Maragos.
Business students from high schools across the county competed for more than $33,000 in scholarship and cash prizes from various sponsors. Central High School’s team earned a $750 prize from Jzanus Home Care.
Teams had 10 minutes to convince a panel of expert judges that their business plan would be feasible and successful at the plaza of the new Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The event took place at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building.
