A team of Memorial Junior High School students won first place in the fashion design category at the Olympics of the Visual Arts competition.
Olympics of the Visual Arts is a New York State competition sponsored by the NYS Art Teachers Association designed to stimulate young artists’ creative thinking. Students work in groups for several months creating a project for their category, as well as a portfolio documenting their ideas, research and process.
For this year’s fashion design category, the theme was big, bold patterns. The team created a wearable outfit using multiple patterns made from paper products.
