Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School held its annual Career Day event on April 22, featuring opportunities for students to explore occupations and interests to potentially pursue in the future.
The day began with a keynote speech by Christopher Roberts, a graduate of Harvard University who attended Memorial and Central High School in his grade school years. He discussed his journey from student to Merrill Lynch Equity Market Risk Analyst and shared inspiring advice with the audience.
The remainder of the event featured various guest speakers who described their careers in the Career and Technical Education classes. Among the fields represented were finance, coaching, public relations, medicine, engineering, design, speech/language pathology, law, theater and government.
Career Day at Memorial was also recognized as “Dress for Success Day,” and students were encouraged to dress in professional attire to support the experience.
