On March 13, Central High School students in the district’s Performing Arts Program Acting Concentration participated in the 65th annual Shakespeare Festival and Scene Competition at Hofstra University.
Under the direction of Elizabeth Kott, Central High School students competed against several local high schools and won the Best Ensemble award for their presentation of Act 4, Scene 1 of “Much Ado About Nothing.”
In addition, students participated in a variety of workshops led by Hofstra University faculty, such as “Voice and Diction” and “Improv and Stage Combat.” Students also viewed a performance of “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” the theater department's adaptation of “Macbeth.”
