Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School’s Leadership Development Club held a successful Teens for Jeans Drive, through which 208 jeans were collected for the Salvation Army’s Housing and Homeless Services.
The student group realized that over a million young people experience homelessness in the United States every year, and pairs of jeans are among the most greatly appreciated donations. The Memorial school community participated in this initiative in order to directly provide essential clothing to youth in need.
